A police officer called to a house in Truro yesterday evening ended up getting assaulted.
Officers were called to a residential address on Richmond Hill at around 9pm yesterday evening, to support ambulance paramedics.
A woman in her 20s was being treated when "her friend became aggressive and abusive towards them", said a police spokesperson.
They added: "Officers were required to force entry to the property, upon which a female occupant assaulted a female officer by grabbing and hitting her."
A 46-year-old woman from Richmond Hill, Truro, was subsequently arrested for assaulting an emergency worker and is in police custody at this time.
Chief Superintendent Ian Drummond-Smith referred to the incident on Twitter this morning as part of a round up of what he described as a "busy week in Cornwall."
He said at that time there were 70 live incidents, including eight missing people, seven in custody and one officer assaulted overnight.
