FIREFIGHTERS were called to a 'deliberate' incident at an iconic town centre building.
At around 8pm last night (May 28), emergency services were called to Market House where a fire had been started in an archway.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "Three fire engines and an aerial platform ladder from Taunton where all sent to a report of a fire in a restaurant.
"On arrival crews confirmed this was a fire within the doorway of the three storey building, which was closed at the time.
"Crews extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets, a thermal image camera and a positive pressure fan.
"The cause of the fire was deliberate."
