No new deaths involving coronavirus have been reported in Cornwall over the last 24 hours.

The total has stayed at 86 in today's update from NHS England.

Of those 26 took place at Cornwall Partnerships NHS Foundation Trust hospitals and 60 at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust.

Yesterday there was no rise in the number of new cases of coronavirus in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly either, with the figure currently remaining at 561.

Across England a further 166 people who tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 25,079.

Patients were aged between 33 and 99 years old. Five of the 166 patients (aged between 54 and 70) had no known underlying health condition. Their families have been informed.

NHS England and NHS Improvement also report the number of patient deaths where there has been no Covid-19 positive test result, but where the virus is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death.

Today, 18 deaths are reported under these circumstances.
