THE family of a Bridgwater man who died while on holiday in Spain say he can finally rest in peace after his body was flown home to the UK.
Phil Pearce was found dead in Benidorm in November, although his family was only informed in February, five months after he went missing in the Spanish resort.
The Spanish authorities said that was due to difficulties in identifying the body.
On Thursday, his family posted on Facebook: "Finally the news we wanted our dad (Phil) is flying back to the UK.
"He can now get to finally rest in peace after a long time.
"We all love you dad. Thank you all for everything you have shared and your kind comments.
"Please all stay safe and stay in. Lots of love from our family."
Phil had travelled to Benidorm with a friend when he disappeared.
He was spotted in a bar in a confused state and put in a taxi and taken to the police station.
Officers allowed him to leave despite Phil not knowing where he was staying.
Members of his family travelled to Benidorm in an unsuccessful attempt to find him before his body was discovered in February.
