The UK’s coronavirus death toll has passed 20,000 after a further 813 deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours - and there have been three new deaths recorded in Somerset.

Overall in Somerset since the start of the outbreak 48 people who have tested positive have died in Somerset hospitals.

Each day the Public Health England publishes updated figures of new recorded deaths from Covid-19 in the nation's hospitals and in the figures released today (Saturday, April 25), there are three new deaths recorded at Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in Somerset.

Across the country a further 813 coronavirus-related hospital deaths have been reported in the UK taking the country's death toll to 20,319.

The total hospital deaths in the county are made up of 27 at Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust; six at Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust; three at Weston-super-Mare; and 12 in Yeovil.

The official death toll in England is 18,084, in Wales its 774 and in Scotland its 1,231.

A further 16 deaths have been recorded in Northern Ireland from Covid-19.
