ANOTHER Somerset patient has sadly died after testing positive for Covid-19.

Figures released on Sunday, April 5, show a total of 13 patients across the Somerset County Council local authority area have died after testing positive for the disease.

A third patient has died within the Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust on April 2.

As of Saturday, April 4, 76 people in Somerset had tested positive for the virus, with a further update expected today. Today's figures (April 5), show a total of 47,806 people have tested positive across the UK.

A further 555 deaths across England were announced today, bringing the total up to 4,494. The UK total is 4,934.

Patients were aged between 33 years and 103 years old. 29 of the 555 patients (aged between 35 and 95 years old) had no known underlying health condition.
