A CARE home has improved its rating during its latest inspection.

Nynehead Court was rated 'good' in all areas after a visit from the Care Quality Commission.

In June last year, the home was rated 'requires improvement' - so its newest rating of 'good' has been welcomed by all at the home.

CQC inspectors visited the home earlier this month and looked at many aspects of the care provided, from how the home manages medication and keeps records, through to the food it provides and the activities it offers to its residents.

In the report, inspectors said that residents received care and support from kind and caring staff; had choice over the way they led their lives; and that there were a range of social activities at the home and in the wider community.

During their visit, the inspectors also spoke to staff, residents, family members and visiting professionals to get their views.

Some of these were included within the report, with comments such as “Staff are very kind – without exception. Very attentive”; and compliments on the way the home created spaces for people’s individual hobbies were included.

Angela Watkins, manager of Nynehead Court, said, “Our CQC rating of ‘good’ reflects the hard work which has been done by our staff team, and we are delighted to receive it.

"Knowing that a home has been judged as ‘good’ gives residents and their families a great deal of reassurance that they or their loved ones are being well looked after.”
