THE owners of a country pub want to knock down a shed and replace it with a wooden cabin to rent out to holidaymakers.

The Holywell Inn, at Holywell Lake, already attracts tourists to stay in a four-bedroom holiday house.

That has proved so popular that they now want to attract even more people to stay.

A planning application has been submitted to Somerset West and Taunton Council seeking permission to build the new one double bedroom holiday let.

If granted, the cabin would also feature an open plan kitchen, living and dining area, along with timber decking area and a private amenity area.

Access and parking for the one bed holiday let would be shared by the existing holiday cottage from Landlord’s Hill.

The application says: "The new holiday unit would supplement the existing tourist accommodation offer and could be let as a separate unit of accommodation or alongside the main house as an annexe."
