THE Rotary Club of Wiveliscombe raised £1,000 from its Christmas draw throughout December.

The proceeds of the draw to win a hamper have been presented to Wivey Link.

Club president Jan Middleton said: "We are delighted to support Wivey Link again this year because it provides such a valuable service to the rural community.

"We would also like to thank everyone who bought tickets for the draw which made the great total of £1000."

Wivey Link is the community transport arm of the Wiveliscombe Area Partnership, which also operates the town's community office, Wiveliscombe Library, the 10 Parishes Festival and the street market.

WAP chairman Pauline Homeshaw said: "We are so grateful to the Rotary Club and to all residents for their support of Wivey Link. We could not manage without that help.

"The Rotary Club has supported us since the very beginning, almost 20 years ago, and its commitment is so valuable."
