A YELLOW weather warning for wind is set to be issued across East Lancashire tomorrow.

The Met Office will put the warning in place from 3am to 6pm, with very strong winds set to batter the region.

A Met Office spokesman said: "There is a small chance of injuries and danger to life from flying debris.

"There might be very strong winds potentially bringing some disruption through Thursday.

"There is a slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs

"There is a small chance of longer journey times or cancellations as road, rail, air and ferry services are affected.

"In severe weather, you can play a part in helping the people that are trying to get things back to normal as quickly as possible:

"Keep an eye on the weather forecast; would travelling earlier or later make a difference? If there's severe weather happening, national rail enquiries and the train operating companies will issue regular travel updates on their websites."
