Villages across the Falmouth, Helston and Lizard area came together for Remembrance Sunday services to remember the war dead.

In St Keverne a parade formed at 10.40am on Doctor’s Hill, before marching to the war memorial in the square for a service and wreath laying.

There were two services in Mawgan, at 9.30am in the church and then a short service at the War Memorial at 10.45am with the Rev Mike North.

This included a two-minute silence and wreath laying by organisations including Mawgan and St Martin's parish councils, Garras School and Owlets Pre-school, the Royal British Legion and nearby Parc Vro Residential Home.

Similar services were held in Mabe, Mawnan, Mylor and The Lizard, which involved the lifeboat station.

In Flushing a service at St Peter’s Church was well attended, with the congregation processing down to the war memorial on Town Quay for the act of remembrance.

In the church service, the Rev Canon Andrew Stevenson said that remembrance gave the chance to bring to mind people, places and events of the past.

At the war memorial, Rev Stevenson read out the names of those who were killed during the two world wars and John Symons and Rodney Myers laid wreaths.

Wendron Church held a Remembrance Sunday service at10.15am that included a section at the war memorial at 11am, while at Mullion there was a service of remembrance by the war memorial in the parish churchyard at 10.50am, followed by a service at 11am.
