To commemorate Remembrance Sunday, local bus operator Buses of Somerset is providing free journeys across their entire network to armed forces personnel.

Any cadets, current and former Armed Forces personnel and veterans travelling to Remembrance services this Sunday, November 10, will be allowed to go free of charge.

The local bus operator announced the concession in honour of all the fallen and the surviving veterans of conflict.

To claim the free bus travel, all cadets, current or former Armed Forces personnel need to do is wear their uniform, medals or show a relevant military ID card.

Alex Carter, Buses of Somerset’s managing director, said: “This is an important day for many people to remember family, friends and others who have been lost in military service or just want to pay their respects.

"We are pleased to be supporting the occasion and want to make it as easy as possible for people to attend the commemorative events taking place across our wider network.”

“Many of our employees, from drivers, engineers to office staff have served in the military, so this time of year is particularly poignant across our sites.”
