Stogursey Post Office has been modernised at the current location and opening hours have been significantly increased.

It is a new-style local branch with Post Office services provided alongside the retail counter of the shop at 16 High Street, Stogursey, TA5 1TA.

The branch was temporarily closed for 11 days for the work to take place.

The new opening hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 8pm; Saturday, 8am to 8pm and Sunday, 8am to 2pm.

A spokesman for the Post Office said: "This is an extra 45 hours and 30 minutes of Post Office service a week including Sunday, plus Saturday and Wednesday afternoons.

"The branch no longer closes at lunchtime. These changes will make it more convenient for customers to visit.

"The changes are part of a major modernisation programme across the Post Office network designed to make it easier for customers to do business, through longer opening hours and modern open plan environments."

Matt Walls, Post Office area change manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

"We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.

"This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”
