A NEW restaurant has opened its doors in Taunton.

Nobregas Tapas is now open in Bath Path.

The new restaurant is from the same team behind Taunton favourite the Skewer House, with some extra help from a family member.

A spokesman said: "We have been a long time coming, with roots from the whole family back in Essex, being made to work in our mum's kitchen alongside our studies, which we are so thankful for.

"We then started our sister restaurant, Skewer House, back in 2018.

"Our Espetada dish became so successful, we never added any extra dishes to the menu.

"In 2019, we noticed we were turning a lot of customers away but had no where to turn them to, as they were looking for the escapism and Mediterranean flavour we produce.

"So we bit the bullet and decided to open another restaurant.

"We knew we had the customer base, but the biggest concern was who is going to feed these people.

"We ended up dragging our sister into the business.

"You'll find Sofia in the kitchen. She has two young boys to look after so she already has a lot of her plate.

"We promised her how lovely the people of Somerset are, how helpful our Skewer House family have become and how much they needed her cooking.

"We now have our own tapas and paella restaurant being run by our sister and I'm sure you'll see her boys being fed after school.

"We hope you enjoy Nobregas." The delicious new venue will be open Tuesday-Saturday from 5.30pm, and is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
