The money will help the County Gazette-backed charity buy equipment for the Beacon Centre cancer unit at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton.

Collections in 5p coins were £2 from Mollie Eastwood; £35 from the people of Porlock; and £15 from Rich and Chris Turner.

Collection pots were £33.70 at Honey's hairdressers, Galmington; and £72.32 the One Stop Shop, Galmington.

There was £123.57 from the Beacon Centre, including £107.15 in 5ps.
