HUNDREDS of people attended a vintage fair during a sunny Sunday.

The Vintage and Salvage Market, organised by Vintage Picker, took place at Woodlands Castle on Sunday, July 28.

Dozens of stallholders had a successful day selling their goods to the visitors.

The day saw hours of sunshine while visitors looked around the site.

Gemma Bisiker, organiser of the market, which was held for the first time, said the day was a success, but lessons have been learnt for any future events.

She said: “We wanted to thank firstly the stall holders for taking the risk and being part of our first event who have all emailed us to thank us for arranging a special day.

“Secondly all of the visitors that came to enjoy the day.

“With traffic issues and roadworks outside the venue, it made it a hard day to manage, but everyone got together and the public were understanding.

“It is clear to us that the Somerset people love vintage and salvage and we were overwhelmed with the response.

“Conversations are already being had to make this event event bigger and better next year, with more parking so no one misses out.”
