STEAM train buffs were out in force on Sunday as an 80-year-old locomotive pulled into Taunton Station.

And fans with cameras lined the side of the track after it pulled out of Taunton and headed for Cornwall.

The No 46233 Duchess of Sutherland was on its way from Bristol Temple Meads to Par, in Cornwall, on the mainline track.

It was the first of four Royal Duchy trips being run by the Railway Touring Company - the others are on August 4 and September 1 and 15.

Passengers are able to opt for breakfast and dining experiences on the journeys.

And once in Par, they can catch a bus to visit either Fowey or Charlestown, where some of the Poldark scenes were filmed.
