RESIDENTS are being blamed for the continuing problem of rubbish being littered all over a section of St James Street, in Taunton.

Letting agency boss Jayne O'Brien is fed up at being greeted by waste outside her premises, especially on Monday mornings.

After she recently protested on social media about the problem, Somerset West and Taunton Council stepped in to try to clear up the matter.

The authority has issued gull-proof bags to homes and businesses in the area to stop birds ripping open black bin bags.

But Ms O'Brien has taken to Twitter again to voice her frustration at the scene outside her office when she arrived for work this morning.

She said: "Another Monday! Residents causing this problem not businesses #streetcleanersneeded."
