FIREFIGHTERS and police attended a fire near to Taunton Station.
Fire crews were called to reports of the fire on the balcony of a first floor flat in Kingston Road, Taunton, overlooking the train station.
Three fire engines from the county town were mobilised to the incident at the five-storey building shortly before 1pm yesterday (Friday).
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the fire involved furniture and was started accidentally.
Fire crews used a ladder for access and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire which was confined to the balcony.
They also used a thermal image camera to check for hot spots and small tools to cut away external cladding in order to check for any possible fire spread.
Nobody was reported injured in the fire.
The police also attended to provide traffic control.
