FIRE crews were sent to tackle a barn fire at a farm near Wellington this afternoon (Wednesday).
Fire control sent two engines from Wellington and one from Taunton, along with the water bowser from Bridgwater and specialist officers to the blaze at Nynehead.
On arrival firefighters confirmed six large bales of hay were on fire inside a barn measuring 18 metres by six metres.
Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire following the callout shortly before 2pm.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "This was a fire in a barn involving six hay bales causing 10 per cent fire damage to the barn.
"The fire was extinguished using one hose reel jet, one main jet and light portable pump. The cause of the fire was accidental."
