WILLAND Rovers head to Bristol Manor Farm this afternoon (Saturday) as leaders of the Toolstation Western League Premier Division.

Unbeaten Rovers went top thanks to a crushing 6-0 over Sherborne Town at Silver Street on Wednesday night.

Luke Alden put Willand in front on 17 minutes and, 10 minutes later, they doubled their lead when Connor Rush netted.

Alden grabbed his second a minute before the break to make it 3-0 with further goals in the second half; firstly through Will Nicholls on 69 minutes followed by Brett Worbey four minutes later.

Jordan Ford then added goal number six on 87 minutes to compound the visitors’ misery and complete a resounding win for Willand.

It followed up on their 1-0 home league win over Cribbs last Saturday.

After a goalless first half, Mike Williams’ goal two minutes before the hour mark was ultimately the difference between the two sides on the day.

Willand have won five of their six league games so far and head Buckland Athletic on goal difference while also have a game in hand.

Today's opponents Manor Farm are also yet to taste defeat in the league and are fourth – three points behind Willand having played one game less.

Rovers are then back at Silver Street on Wednesday night at home against Clevedon Town – who are ninth with seven points from five games.

Willand have also already beaten last season’s Western League champions Odd Down, Bridport and Wells City so far in the league while their only defeat in eight competitive games came in the FA Cup to Shepton Mallet after a replay.
