FAMILIES are expected to pour into Willand Village Hall this Saturday, September 20, for the sixth Culm Valley Model Railway Show.

Sixteen layouts will be on show, ranging from a superb model of Uffculme station, accurately built with help from Tiverton Museum, to French and German layouts, with a tram scenario thrown in for good measure.

Children and adults alike will have the chance to drive the model trains, and the ladies of the “Station Buffet” will be keeping the viewers well-fed with bacon sandwiches, pasties, cakes, tea and coffee, and there will be bargains to be had at the second hand stalls.

Club secretary Peter Fosberry said: “Being front page of The Star last year boosted attendance to over 400 people, fantastic for a small village.

“We have kept the admission at £3.50p for adults and just £1.50 for children for the sixth year running so we are hoping that people will come for a great day out and beat last year’s figures.”

The show runs from 10am to 4.30pm.
