TIVERTON’S popular comedy club is on the hunt for good causes.

Comedy Hall is opening up its monthly raffle to good causes in need of a cash boost.

About £7,000 has been raised through its prize draw since opening six years ago.

Organiser Steve Lodge said: “With some high profile shows coming up later this year we’d like to hear from good causes that would like to run the raffle at a show.

“Typically raffle items include wine and chocolates, but some have been a bit different, including fish bait, a tin of beans, edible underwear and a working bakelite organ.

“Comedian Craig Campbell talked about a box of cat biscuits for 12 minutes, and the organ kept being returned and was in four raffles.

“Organisations such as Bampton Primary School, Twyford Spartans, WhizzKiz and Stand Against Violence have all raised money at the comedy shows.”

Tiverton Junior Operatic is set to run the raffle on August 21, the rest of the club’s shows are currently charity-less.
