Scottish folk trio Salt House has announced a Redruth show following the announcement of their new album “Huam”.

Salt House, made up of Jenny Sturgeon, Ewan Macpherson and Lauren MacColl, are playing at the Redruth Drapery on March 19. They describe their music as "New songs that sound as though they have always been here. Ancient ballads woken up. Poems given the tunes they’ve long deserved."

In a press release they said: "On ‘Huam’ you will hear echoes of Pentangle, a touch of Dick Gaughan, murmurs of Scandinavian and Scots, all woven into a music that’s traditional and new."

Salt House say that they are influenced by the natural world and are supporting conservation charity Trees for life. They are offering a chance to add a tree to their grove with the purchase of an album.

They are aiming to plant enough trees over the coming years to offset some of their touring carbon footprint.

The trio record on location, taking themselves to Argyllshire to finish writing and recording songs that were thought up between their homes between of Inverness-shire and Shetland.

“Huam” is released March 20 and will be toured throughout 2020. You can pre order the album here: http://smarturl.it/huam
