As a fresh new year begins, Carn to Cove are thrilled to present a season of theatre, storytelling and laughter, in the county's village halls, churches and community spaces.

The team is very excited to be bringing three fantastic dance shows to Cornwall this season.

Venus by Dan Watson showcases a combination of contemporary dance and confessional comedy.

Dan invites members of the audience to participate, taking on various roles throughout the evening (April 4, Portreath Millennium Hall).

Jane Mason brings Night Flying to Cornwall for the first time.

The show draws on ideas related to deep time, the night sky and landscapes of being, it explores a constellation of associations related to memory, change and wonder. (March 14, Grampound Village Hall).

Louder Is Not Always Clearer is a story of a man perceived to be full of confidence and who is outwardly social, but inwardly vulnerable and at times isolated.

In a hearing world, Jonny is different and Louder Is Not Always Clearer highlights those differences in a warm and humorous way (The Centre, Newlyn, on March 14 and AMATA, Penryn on March 18).

This show is accessible to deaf, hard of hearing and hearing audiences through the use of spoken English, British Sign Language and creative captions.

Using a raucous combination of physical theatre, live music and clowning, Scratchworks Theatre will unfold the untold tale of the four feisty forgotten females from the Great Train Robbery, as they leave behind their kitchen-sink lives and embark on a madcap adventure of mischief and mayhem. (Lambeage Hall, Coverack, on March 7; and North Hill Village Hall, April 3).

In May, renowned violinist Thomas Bowes continues his Bach Pilgrimage at Warleggan Jubilee Hall (May 17), Church of St Mary and St Julian, Maker (May 19), St Michael’s Church, Perranporth (May 23) and Calstock Arts, The Old Chapel (May 24).

Thomas Bowes is one of the UK’s most versatile and accomplished violinists – as a soloist, chamber musician, concertmaster and artistic director.

His concerto appearances in the UK, Germany and the USA have included highly praised performances of the concertos of Elgar, Britten, Szymanowski and Walton.
