Creators of The Great Estate have unveiled Live at Scorrier House, a major new music event which will take place on Saturday, August 29 next year.

Announcing British rock band, The Libertines as the headline act, the 10,000-capacity venue at Scorrier House Estate is set to host the biggest rock concert Cornwall has ever seen.

Tickets are available now via the website.

Playing in Cornwall for the first time, The Libertines, fronted by Carl Barat and Pete Doherty, were born in the late 1990s from the East London squat scene.

Shooting to fame in 2002 with their debut album ‘Up The Bracket', the band went on to record a second album in 2004 which debuted at the top of the British charts.

A decade later, following what was thought to be the dissolve of The Libertines, the band made a come-back, embarking on their first European Tour in ten years and playing three sold-out gigs at London’s Alexandra Palace. The momentum continued. ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth’ was released in September 2015 and entered the UK Album Charts at No.3, receiving critical applause from media across the country.

Headlining the first edition of Live at Scorrier House, The Libertines are set to bring a career-spanning set that will tear through greatest hits and reinstate the band's unique charm. Special guests for The Libertines Live at Scorrier House will be announced early next year.

Continuing to bring exciting acts to the South West, Event Director Ben Hall comments: "Myself and the team have been eager to create a Rock event for quite some time now as we feel there is a gap in the music scene here. It has been a big ambition to host a one-day concert featuring a string of incredible live acts and a big headliner. Scorrier House is a brilliant venue and is perfect for an event of this style.

This will be the first time The Libertines have played in Cornwall which is a fantastic prospect for Live at Scorrier House.”

Adding a sweet summer twist to the bank holiday weekend, Live at Scorrier House will run from 2pm – 11pm on Saturday 29th with a string of rock, punk and indie acts.

A VIP after party hosting a selection of different DJs will continue until 2am for Rock and Roller wristband holders. Food and drink options will be available throughout the event, including breakfast on Sunday morning.

Scorrier House is also home to the award-winning music festival, The Great Estate, which has seen performances from a string of major rock bands and international singer-songwriters over the past three years. Encapsulating the spirit and ethos of the boutique festival, Live at Scorrier House joins a brimming portfolio of Cornwall-based events hosted by Quick Panda Productions.

Early Bird Day tickets for Live at Scorrier House are available via the website now, priced at £35 (plus booking fee).
