PENZANCE'S famous Jubilee Pool will be used to create aural art in September.

Jubilee Pool Stories is a creative heritage project and is running a free sound collection and editing workshop weekend at the outdoor lido on September 14 and 15.

The workshops, led by sound artist and musician Chris Reed, are suitable for artists, creatives, filmmakers and anyone who would like to try a new creative medium.

On the first day, from 10am to 1pm participants will be able to collect ambient sound from the lido and surrounding area.

Day two, again from 10am to 1pm, they will edit ‘sound postcards’ from the collected sound interwoven with audio clips of peoples’ memories of Jubilee Pool, recorded as part of the Jubilee Pool Stories project.

A selection of these ‘sound postcards’ will be included in the new Jubilee Pool online archive, as creative interpretations of the lido.

The workshops are free, but a £10 deposit will be taken and then refunded upon attending the event.
