A NEW family festival is coming to Stithians Showground at the end of August.

Cassia Family Festival takes place on August 30 and 31 and September 1.

It aims to support local acts, bands, entertainers, food vendors, charities and traders, with out-of-county suppliers only being used when it wasn’t possible to source items from within Cornwall.

The acts and bands confirmed to perform include Company B, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boys, Blue Eyed Candy, Sam Richardson and the Renegades, Strawdogs, 3 Minute Warning, Megan Elizabeth, Laura Johns, Mandy McGovan and Natalie Weston.

There will also be a presenting stage, which will introduce new Cornish talent, including Clarity Mitchell, Lizzie Hill, Barry Hunt, Tim Bliss, Change The Letter, Sennen Pope, High Tide, The Caap Makaton Choir and more.

The event is supporting three local charities – Penhaligon's Friends, Cornwall Search and Rescue and Cornwall Rural Community Charity.

The festival will have children’s workshops, which are included in the ticket price and open each day from 10am to 6pm.

There will be bars plus a gin lounge – which will be vegan and gluten free – and the usual food, drinks and sweet treats.

Organisers have even booked several large marquees so that there is the capacity to move to an indoor stage if the weather doesn't play ball.

Curiosity Corner will have a chiropractor, massages, reiki, reflexologist, crystal healer, yoga instructor and more and there will also be hot tubs on site.

Tickets start from £10 for children and £15 for adults for day tickets.

Camping is also available, with options including a weekend family camping pass for £199.
