TICKETS are now on sale for Sister Act, the next production from Falmouth’s award-winning Young Generation theatre company.

Based on the hit 1992 film of the same name, Sister Act follows Deloris Van Cartier, who is hiding in a place she’s sure she won’t be found – a convent.

Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior.

Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris soon breathes new life into the church and community, but in doing so, blows her cover.

Filled with powerful gospel music, outrageous dancing and a truly moving story, Sister Act is the ultimate sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship.

Taking the dazzling lead role as Deloris Van Cartier is Sarah England, supported by Emily Weir as Mother Superior, Caya Murphy as Sister Mary Robert, Izzy MacPherson as Sister Mary Patrick and Tamsin Ford as Sister Mary Lazarus.

Jack Irving makes his Young Generation debut as bad boy Curtis, Alex Ould will be playing Eddie and Ben Kitts will take the role of TJ.

With an incredibly energetic chorus this years production is set to be another knock-out performance.

Ashley Spear is this year’s director with Samantha Taylor in charge of choreography and Julia Knight-Bennett taking the role of musical director.

The angelical props are being designed and created by Catherine Chevill, the holy costumes are being put together by Vron Spear and head of hair and make-up is Naomi Morant.

The show will be staged at The Poly in Falmouth from Tuesday, July 30, to Saturday, August 3, with curtain up at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available from The Poly at thepoly.org or from The Poly box office in Church Street and cost £10 for adults and £7 for children.

Young Generation is famous for its sell-out shows and standing ovations, so it is advised that you book your tickets soon to avoid disappointment.

The group is based in Falmouth and is for young people aged 10 to 20.

The theatre company was founded by Sally and Tony Robinson in 1982.

Since then hundreds of young people have passed through the auditions to perform in one of the many previous musicals and plays.

Young Generation is a registered charity and the committee is made up entirely of volunteers who give up their time and energy for free.
