John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett will bring the eccentric act to the Bridgwater Arts Centre on Thursday, May 22
AN eccentric duo will be appearing at the Bridgwater Arts Centre on Thursday, May 22, promising a raucous evening of original, witty music.
John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett travel to the town as part of their Strung Together Tour.
The pair first achieved notoriety with an eye-watering performance on the Old Grey Whistle Test and their subsequent hit single Really Free in 1977.
Otway's mix of blind ambition and rank incompetence was to keep his microstar shining for almost two decades, despite his ability to turn any situation to his own disadvantage.
His autobiography, Rock and Roll's Greatest Failure, outsold all the records he had released since his hit.
He did, however, reach number nine in the UK top 40 charts with the song Bunsen Burner, which earned him an appearance on Top of the Pops.
