Vulcan draws the crowds to Culdrose Air Day

Thousands of visitors, both tourists and locals, flocked to Culdrose Air Day yesterday.
The beautiful weather, after two years of rain, ensured the Helston naval base was packed with people and there was a fun-filled atmosphere.
Crowds were entertained with air displays as well the many demonstrations and exhibits on the ground.
There was certainly no shortage of planes, both on the ground and in the sky.
The entire day was filled with the roar of old and new aircrafts.
A 1950’s Vulcan bomber, which was part of the Cold War nuclear deterrent, also helped to draw the crowds.
Visitors had to cover their ears as the massive plane soared overhead, thundering through the sky after a £7 million refurbishment project.
