Garnets 54, Barons 16
A DEPLETED Garnets team came out fighting from the first centre pass and it paid off thanks to the accurate shooting of Tanisha Birch (GA) and Carly Langdon (GS).
Throughout the first half there was lovely centre court play from Steph Elkins (C), Georgia Edmundson (WD) and Grace Morris making her debut at (WA).
Half time saw debutant Kirsty Richards make her debut at WA and she performed very well.
During the second half, due to a reshuffle in the Barons team, Millie Burridge (GD) and Vicky Evans (GK) saw more action in their end, but they defended solidly and Garnets won the match 54-16. Players of the match Tanisha Birch and Carly Langdon
Sapphires 36, Dolphins 31
AFTER a slow start, Sapphires settled down, and some well timed interceptions from Mikki Hole and Carly Martin, took Sapphires into a slight lead 11-9.
With accurate shooting from Hannah Read and Abi Ridler, Sapphires extended the lead to 20-17 at half time. Dolphins managed to level the score at 24 all to set up a great final quarter but Sapphires pulled away to win 36 - 31. Player of the match was Rachel Lawrence.
Ambers 16, Spears 42
AMBERS started well but unfortunately Spears pulled ahead in the third quarter and excellent interceptions by Nicola Elkins, Lucie McDowell and Katie Dennison gave Ambers a chance to pull back.
Lucy McCabe and Mia Bennett made some great passes towards the attacking end but despite great shooting by Megan Walford and Tasmin Hembery, Ambers lost 42-16. Player of the match went to Lucie McDowell.
Emeralds 35, Vipers 73
EMERALDS lost to a strong Vipers side at the weekend. Roxy McDowell and Megan Walford linked well in attack and Lucy McDowell (GK) made some vital interceptions.
Emily Hoare, Kerry Clark and Michelle Martin worked hard throughout but Vipers ran out 73-35 winners.
Player of the match went to Roxy McDowell.
Gems 48, Tomahawks 45
GEMS started their game strongly with attacking duo Hannah Clapp and Justine Pearn working well.
Centre court players Katie Ball, Danni Keirle and Helen Martin worked with defensive duo Sue Bushnell and Amy Witcombe to see the team come out on top winning 48 - 45. Justine Pearn was voted player of the match.
