DAVE Lock with 40 points was the winner in Division One of Saturday's Stableford competition at Taunton Vale Golf Club which attracted well over 70 entrants.

However two players returned with 37 points so after countback it was Phil Howard who claimed second place with Roger Dimond ending third.

Frank Kirkham headed the second flight with 37 points, one ahead of Richard Taylor who was second, while Darren Cross was third with 35.

Neil Milton triumphed in the third division with 39 points, Darren Marks was second, but only after countback edged him in front of Robin Knight after they both returned with 37.

Sunday's Texas Scramble also attracted a large entry at the end of which it was Tony Chedzoy and Pete Rossiter who were the winners with 61.75.

Wayne Davey and Steve Decosta were second with 63 and Neil Whisler and Steve Lukins third on 64.25.

Alison Harman was the winner of Medal Number 14 and also headed Division One with 72, four ahead of second placed Shirley Portis who carded 76.

Alison Forster headed Division Two with 73, two better than second placed Jen Musgrove who scored 75.

Pat and Tony Snelling teamed up with Ian Bowidge and Bill Campbell to win the Mixed Texas Scramble with 59.1, Sarah Rendall, Lee Lewis, Mike Saffin and Paul Littlejohns took second spot with 59.8, with Chris and Kevin Lewis, Frank Penny and Dave Lock ending third with 60.2.
