Berrow 2, Bridgwater Town Res 0

BERROW continued their imperious form at the weekend as they saw off any threat posed by nearby rivals Bridgwater Town Reserves.

The team were on the scoresheet as early as the second minute when Ian Bellinger made no mistake from close range following good work from Luke Morgan.

They dominated for the first 15 minutes until Bridgwater came back into the game and a mistake from Harrison opened the door for them to equalise but he redeemed himself with a good save.

Morgan was again in the action moments later as his swirling 40-yard cross found Connor Watts who set up Phil Hartnup but his effort flew over the bar.

In the second half, Berrow continued to dominate but were unable to convert their chances in the final third of the pitch with Bell and Luke McErlain missing chances.

Ashley Catlow came on for Hartnup and Dax Vincent for Watts and the lead should have been doubled when Morgan was brought down in the box but McErlain shot wide from the resulting spotkick.

Harrison kept Berrow's noses in front with a couple of reflex saves but minutes from time, the team did seal the win as Morgan's free kick was headed across goal by Marsh for Vincent to head the ball home from six yards.

Man of the match: Ian Bellinger.
