QUANTOCK Riding Club had a successful day at the British Riding Clubs Area Horse Trials qualifier and had an individual winner at each grade, a team first, two team seconds and a team third.

This gave the club qualification for 10 horses and riders to go to the Championships to compete in dressage, show jumping and cross-country.

Individual winners were Helen Pavey and Knockenpower Rory (Novice); Catherine Kingscote and Mr Lewis (Intermediate) and Emma Pascall and Kentlands Lad (Open).

The winning novice team were Helen Pavey, Polden Pinotage; Becky Hunt, Moonshine; Andrea Dyer, Harvey; and Nicola Miller, Millwood Mizuri. The Intermediate team consisted of Hannah Payne, Tara Moondancer; DD Kingscote, Mr Lewis; Emma Pascall, Junos Echo; and Jess Long and Schalimar. Their junior team did very well, especially as they had only three members and were unlucky not to qualify Grace Popham, Matilda; Annabelle Jay, Noah; and Jess Mortimer, Keystone Call Me Ronnie.

In total, the club scooped one individual gold, one team bronze and one individual bronze plus several other placings.
