SHOW JUMPING: Romilly qualifies for Horse of the Year Show

FIFTEEN-year-old Romilly Simmons from Taunton was the overall winner of the second round of the Blue Chip Feed Balancer Pony Newcomers championship held in Warwickshire.

The victory qualified Romilly for the championship final at the Horse of the Year Show.

Of the total of 66 rider and pony combinations 11 produced two clear rounds to make it through into the final jump off.

Three combinations then went on to produce the all important treble clear.

Romilly, riding her mother’s Magnetoes Dream, secured victory by riding the fastest clear of the day in the jump off in a time of 43.66 seconds – nine seconds ahead of her nearest rival.
