IT was a straight forward 3-0 win for Westonzoyland over fellow Taunton & District Saturday League Division 2 opponents Nether Stowey in the West Somerset Bowl semi-final.

Andrew James bagged a pair of goals and Nathan Barnard the other and they will face Locomotives in the final.

In Division 1, the table was modified after Civil Service folded but Middlezoy Rovers are two points away from the title following a 4-0 victory over Bishops Lydeard.

On target for the table-toppers were Andy Smith with two, Steve Hall and Dan Luce.

Predators just have to keep winning and hope that Middlezoy make a mistake or two somewhere and they did just that with a 6-3 win over North Petherton thanks to a Damon Jennings hat-trick and further goals from Carl Tucker, Gary Head and Adam Kinsey.

However, it could have been a different story when Craig Wright hit the post from a penalty kick when the score was 0-0 and also had a goal disallowed, he did get on the score sheet with a goal and Josh Gracie added the other two for Pethy.

The mid-table clash between Locomotives and Bridgwater Sports was won by Locos 3-2 despite Matt Fursland and Mike Skidmore netting for Sports.

In Division 2, SRL All Saints have ambitions of pinching the championship from current leaders Sampford Blues but those hopes were dented as they fell to a 3-2 defeat to Dulverton.

James Bawden’s goal, after he had a penalty well saved by Dulverton’s keeper, helped level things up for Saints and, despite another goal from Darren Hill, Dulverton scored a lobbed goal to snatch all three points.

Bridgwater Sports lost 5-1 away at Watchet and, as a result, end their season bottom of the division with Mason Gill getting the consolation.

Division 3 saw Redgate and Norton Fitzwarren share the points in a 1-1 draw as Sam Granville and Mike Stevenson scored for their respective clubs.

Stogursey lost 2-1 to Minehead despite Dean Marcheant’s goal, and Wembdon drew 2-2 with Bishops Lydeard Colts. Simon Lukins and Matt Kerton put Wembdon 2-0 up but two goals in 10 second-half minutes saw the teams share the points.

In Division 5, Morganians’ 5-1 win over Wembdon Saints Reserves gives them the runners-up position in the division behind champions North Petherton Reserves.

Both Matt Parker and Ash Clapp scored twice for them with Sam Tucker adding the fifth and Gareth Mountstephens responded for Saints.

Nether Stowey Reserves lost 7-2 to Galmington Dragons with goals for Stowey from Stewart Rigby and Josh Johnson.

East Bower lost 6-1 to promotion-hunting Exmoor Rangers, despite James Gibbs’ strike giving them a consolation goal.
