Les Phillips Cup

Bridgwater Town 4, Chipping Sodbury Town 0

BRIDGWATER Town returned to home soil in style with a thumping win over Chipping Sodbury in the Les Phillips Cup.

In their first match at Fairfax Park since October 7, the Robins secured their fifth consecutive victory in all competitions to keep their momentum going as Steve Holland, Jack Taylor (2) and Jake Llewellyn each found the net.

The game got off to a fairly quiet start, but the hosts gradually stamped their authority on proceedings and took the lead just after the half hour through Holland.

It was a lead the Robins retained until the break, though they felt it should have been two as Shaun Copp's individual goal was ruled out due to Taylor standing in an offside position - the home side felt their frontman was not interfering with play, but the strike was disallowed.

The same duo weren't to be denied shortly after half-time, however, as Copp's cross was headed in by Taylor to put the hosts in control.

Taylor made the result safe by adding a third with 14 minutes to play, disposessing the goalkeeper and slotting into the empty net, and Llewellyn added gloss to the scoreline by firing home Holland's pass late on.

Bridgwater Town: Jake Viney, Tyne Govier, Jake Llewellyn, Harry Horton (Mark Armstrong), Josh White (c), Lee Begg, Shaun Copp (Charlie White), Jack Jenkins, Jack Taylor, Dave Pearse (Mike Duffy), Steve Holland.
