Evesham United 0, Taunton Town 3

DAN Sullivan scored twice as Taunton Town recorded an excellent away win at promotion rivals Evesham United.

The frontman's double came either side of Pierce Mitchell's strike as Leigh Robinson's side stretched their unbeaten run to 14 matches in all competitions.

The Peacocks flew out the traps against their third-placed opponents in Worcestershire and were two goals to the good after just 13 minutes.

Sullivan got the first, firing into the bottom corner eight minutes in, and the lead was doubled when Pierce Mitchell continued his fine form this season by slotting home Matt Wright's pass.

The visitors remained on the front foot in the opening 45 minutes and could have added to their tally as Ben Adelsbury, Mitchell and Ross Staley all came close, but they went into the break with a comfortable advantage.

Having survived a spell of pressure from the hosts after half-time - with former Peacock Lewis Powell well shackled - Sullivan made the points safe with his second on 83 minutes after finishing Ross Staley's through ball.

Town's victory puts them five points clear at the top after Bristol Manor Farm threw away a 2-0 lead in their draw with Cirencester - next up for the Peacocks is the visit of Weston-super-Mare in the Somerset Premier Cup at the Viridor Stadium on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).
