TAUNTON racegoers look set for more exciting action with 70 horses declared for the seven race card that gets going at 1.05pm, writes Richard Walsh.

With the exception of the first race all of the events have got good sized fields and with leading trainers Philip Hobbs, Paul Nicholls, Colin Tizzard, Alan King and David Pipe all having runners and top jockeys Tom Scudamore, Richard Johnson and Wayne Hutchinson booked to ride, competitive racing looks assured.

The 3.40 pm Class 3 chase over two miles five furlongs, which is worth over £7k to the winner, looks likely to be a contest between Resolution Bay, ridden by Johnson for Hobbs, and Theatrical Star, under Scudamore for Tizzard.

Anybody wanting better value, however, might want to have a look at Priceton Royale or Notarfbad.

In the final race Ringa Ding Ding, ridden by Harry Cobden for Nicholls, looks to be the one to beat.

A courtesy coach service departs from Taunton Railway Station two hours before the off, returning from the course 30 minutes after the start of the last.
