Somerset Women’s League Division 1
Winsham Ladies 0, Berrow Ladies 8
BERROW Ladies hit eight goals in their Somerset Division 1 match at Winsham Ladies on Sunday.
After recent frustrations over a home match with Combe St Nicholas that was abandoned (with the hosts 2-0 up) and another postponed fixture against Portishead, Berrow well and truly got into their stride in this 8-0 romp.
Abi Connick bagged a hat-trick, with Hayley Clarke and Jess Wright each scoring a brace, and Karmisha Wilson added one more from left-back.
The emphatic victory over bottom side Winsham saw Berrow consolidate seventh place in the standings, moving four points clear of eighth-placed Wellington.
They are four points behind both Staplegrove and Wembdon.
This Sunday Berrow look to complete the home match against Combe – second bottom in the table – at the second time of asking at Red Road, with a 2pm kick-off.
