KING'S 1st XI girls have started their Independent Schools Football Association National Cup campaign with a resounding victory at Charterhouse School.

The match was made particularly memorable as it was the first ever girls’ football match to be played on the Surrey school’s 1st XI football pitch.

After a tense and very competitive first 10 minutes, King's found their stride and played some of their best football, to produce a 13-0 win and secure a place in round two.

The opening goal came from Phoebe Licence, who received a well-placed pass from Sarah Hill, firing the ball high into the top right corner.

Grace Perkins delivered two successive assists to set up Karolyane Alencar for her two goals.

Sarah Hill was the provider again when she passed to open the defence for Grace Perkins to score, Perkins then finding the net again with a volley from a cross from Alencar.

Hill's first came from an interception on half-way and a solo run beating the defence and keeper. Her second was created by a good through ball from Beth Beale.

And her hat-trick was completed following another Beale through ball.

Lucie Waddon chipped the goalkeeper from the edge of the penalty area for her goal.

Kayane Alencar linked with twin Karolayne and fired home from the edge of the penalty area.

Beale's first was a skilful dribble through the penalty area along the dead-ball line finished from a narrow angle; her second a well-taken shot from 10 yards.

Kaela-Mei Townson and Molly Smith were solid in their central defence pairing.
