IT was Intermediate Cup day on Saturday for Perry Street sides and there were mixed results from the three counties writes Kerry Miller.

Crewkerne Rangers had little trou- ble in beating Farrington Gurney Reserves 4-0 thanks to Tom Brooms, Steve Bryant, Simon Denslow and Mark Holton, while Merriott Rovers went two better at Forton Rangers.

Nick Mortimer hit a hat-trick with Craig Gosney, Sam Rowswell and Andy Mortimer also on the scoresheet.

Ilminster Colts lost 5-2 at home to Stanton while Barrington Reserves conceded their away tie with Bristol side Parson Street OB.

In Devon, Hawkchurch had a fine 2-1 home win over North Devon League Braunton Reserves with Dan Richards among the goals but Uplyme lost 7-0 at Exeter side Royal Oak.

Netherbury went to Swanage Town in the Dorset Intermediate Cup and lost 8-1.

In league action pride of place went to Barrington who hit double figures at home to Drimpton with George Hayward netting four and Andy Whitefield two. Tom Butler, Guy Dare, Sam Spurway and Carl Lazenby made up the ten.

Misterton beat Combe St Nicholas Reserves 6-0 at home with Scott Jennings’ treble added to by Jamie Spurdle with two and Grant Symes.

Liam Bennett and Liam Samways scored for home side West and Middle Chinnock as they drew 2-2 with Chard United who had Tom Newport and Sam Ridley-Brown to thank but there were no goals at Winsham who drew a blank with Shepton Beauchamp.

South Petherton had a worrying day as they were forced to postpone their game at Beaminster and the Reserve game at home to Shepton Beauchamp Reserves in Division One.

The only game in that division saw Jed Holt and Rich Legg score as Pymore beat Waytown Hounds 2-0 at home.

There was another postponement as Charmouth could not raise a side at home to Halstock but Farway Unit- ed enjoyed their day as they won 5-0 at Chard United Reserves.

There were plenty of goals at Kingsbury as Winsham Reserves won 6-4 with John Allen claiming a hat-trick.

Dan Harvey, Ian Hilton-Barratt and Corey Sutherland also score for the visitors while Kingsbury found the net through Will Arkell (2), Sam Lockey and Ben Norman.

In Division Three Crewkerne Rangers Reserves’ Lewis England and Tommy Martin were on target as they won 2-0 at Drimpton Reserves while Misterton Reserves eased past Farway Reserves away, 6-0. Callum Preston hit three backed by Louie Roper and Jake Barry.

Fivehead beat Chard Rangers Reserves at home 4-1 and Thorncombe Reserves had a 6-2 home win over Ilminster Town A with Liam Whitworth notching a hat-trick.

Liam Beer, Dan Mather and Harry Waddon made up the six.

Lyme Rovers could not raise a side against Chard United All Stars and Uplyme Reserves had the same problem at home to Forton Rangers Reserves.

Winsham lead the Premier Division by six points from Beaminster, who have three games in hand while in Division One Merriott Rovers have a one point advantage over Forton Rangers with Hawkchurch third, having played just two league games to date.

Division Two leaders Farway United have won all five so far.
