ENGLAND wicketkeeper and former King's College pupil, Jos Buttler has signed a new contract to stay at Lancashire for at least the next three years.

Buttler will be back in action for the defending NatWest Blast champions against Durham on Friday, having returned this week from his maiden Indian Premier League campaign with Mumbai Indians.

The 25-year-old, currently out of England's Test team but inked in for limited-overs fixtures after this year's run to the final of the ICC World Twenty20, has scored his country's three quickest one-day international centuries.

Lancashire coach Ashley Giles is delighted Buttler has agreed to extend his stay at Old Trafford, having joined the Red Rose from his native Somerset three years ago.

"Jos is one of the most talented cricketers in the game and we are really pleased to have him at Emirates Old Trafford for at least the next three years," he said.

"He has the ability to take games away from the opposition in all formats and he's one of the leading all-rounders in English cricket."

Buttler added: "I've really loved my time at Emirates Old Trafford and I'm looking forward to the next three years with Lancashire County Cricket Club.

"I hope to repay the faith shown in me and to help Lancashire win trophies in all competitions."
