HIGHBRIDGE Town manager, Matt Pitt is hoping to sign off in style as he prepares to take charge of his final game at the club in Friday's (May 20) Second Division Cup final against Saltford.

Pitt's Highbridge side sealed promotion to Somerset Division One West last week, and the departing manager is now hoping to add silverware to their Division Two West runners-up spot.

Pitt said: "To finish runners-up and to look forward to a cup final is exceptional for all the players and personnel involved with the club, and I really hope, in what will be my last game in charge of the side, that my involvement with the club ends with a cup victory to add to the success we have all achieved over these past seven years.

"It will be an emotional time for me taking charge of my final game, but I am immensely proud of where the club is at on merit and hard work.

"Everything we have achieved, in getting the facilities re-done and widening the pitch to gain county football, was all done through our own hard work and graft, with no grants given, and to be leaving the club on a level par playing wise with Burnham United and a league below Berrow FC is something I never thought would be achieved when I first started up with the club all those years ago.

"If the boys stay together, I really can see them going up again to the premier division, the side is so young with still so much more to achieve.

"Whoever takes over as chairman and new first team manager will be inheriting a fantastic set up with an exceptionally talented squad to push the club even further on."

Friday's cup final is a 7.30pm kick-off at Bishops Sutton FC.
