Tribute Somerset Two South
Burnham II 54, Winscombe II 20
UNDER the leadership of new second team skipper Will Conway, Burnham stormed to a 54-20 demolition of Winscombe in their opening game of the season.
With the wind at their backs, Burnham applied the first waves of attack play to a confident looking Winscombe outfit, with subs to boot.
Following a mistake in midfield by Winscombe, Ryan Beard kicked through, chased, gathered and offloaded to Ben Stacey to score.
Conway added the conversion and then a penalty, but the score soon turned around with three quick tries from Winscombe.
Elliot Donnelly hit back for Burnham to level the scores at 15-15 at half-time.
But the second-half was a very different story - with some great ball carriers in Ben Stacey, Matt Fear Alex Watkins and Jake Harding, the gaps opened up and they interlinked well with the team to put away some fantastic tries.
The final one was taken neatly by Harry Marks.
Burnham are away at Wells next week.
We welcome all players to the club. Training Tuesday and Thursdays 18:45 start.
