KING’S College girls represented Exeter City Football Club in the National Futsal League on Thursday at the Birmingham International Futsal Arena.
They enjoyed an almost perfect start to their campaign, during which they played against teams from Burton Albion, Cardiff City, Peterborough United, Southampton and Southend United, scoring 16 goals and only conceding one.
They beat both Cardiff City First and Reserves, Peterborough United, Burton Albion, Southend United, and a drew with Southampton.
Goals came from across the squad of Beth Beale, Gemma Chilcott, Kayane and Karolayne Alencar, Phoebe Licence, Grace Perkins, and Lucie Waddon, while Elena Sistermann was top scorer with five.
This is first time that the King’s girls have represented Exeter City FC since the League Two side joined the school as partners in their recently introduced BTEC programme.
Chris Heayns, Head of Football at King’s College said: “The girls played brilliantly and thoroughly enjoyed their successes. This was a great experience for them and we look forward to representing Exeter City FC again in the near future.”
