WAYNE Davey was victorious in the Centenary Trophy at Enmore Park with a score of 40 points.

Davey fought off competition from Steve Lukins and Scott Bovington (both 37 points), with Lukins taking second place on countback.

Paul White finished in fourth.

To qualify to play in the centenary you need to win or finish runner-up throughout the year.

Megan Dennett and Sue Merrick won winning the Centenary Plate which is a knockout format within Somerset with a bronze and silver handicap partnership.

Enmore men hosted Saunton in a club friendly last weekend but the result was anything but friendly with Enmore winning 10-0.

The Avalon League Team have had good results recently beating both Worlebury and T&P 4-1 giving hope to possible promotion.

It was another busy week for the seniors at Enmore Park, as they gained a big win in the local derby against Weston.

Wins for captain Mike Perry playing with David Brown were followed by success for Ray Lukeski and Jeff Saunders - who both came into the side on the morning of the game - Mike Cavill & Jim Potticary, Graham Pain & Peter Scott and Dave Pascoe & Max Jameson.

Two other games ended up all square giving a surprise score of 6-2 to the hosts.

Thursday saw the seniors go to Yeovil, but sadly the hosts could only field 12 players which led the two captains to agree to merge the 12 Yeovil players with the 16 from Enmore.

A draw for partners was held and seven groups of four played a Bowmaker.

The winning team amassed an unbelievable score of 90 points based on two to count.

The winning team included Jeff Saunders and Ray Luskeski from Enmore.

The second placed team containing David Taylor, overseas signing Keith Norcutt and Martin Watson from Enmore must have felt they had done enough to win when they returned 89 points.
