BRIDGWATER’S ECB Regional Twenty20 Cup campaign came to a damp end on Sunday, as they lost to Bath in a bowl-out after the wet weather prevented the players from taking the field.
Bath triumphed 4-1 in the decider at The Parks to progress to the next round, bringing Bridgwater’s cup campaign to a disappointing end.
Heavy rain on Saturday night and Sunday morning dashed any hopes of the tie being decided in traditional fashion and it was decided at around 11am that a bowl-out would decide who would take regional T20 crown and progress into the latter stages of the competition.
But the Bridgwater bowlers were unable to find their target regularly enough – while the visitors had no such problem, hitting four times to Bridgwater’s one.
