CRICKET: Wembdon ease past Uphill in National Village Knockout Cup
ON Sunday Wembdon travelled to Uphill Castle in round two of the National Village Knockout Cup.
A strong Wembdon side dismissed a weakened Uphill for just 91, with Bingham taking 4-22 and Pope 3-19.
Wembdon rotated the batting order slightly which led to the loss of a few wickets but a solid 38 from J Rawles and 16 not out from J Brockwell saw Wembdon across the line with 26 overs to spare - Wembdon travel to Middlezoy on May 31.
Wembdon CC host Taunton St Andrews and Shapwick and Polden on Monday, on Bank Holiday Monday (May 25) in the WEPL Stages of the National T20 Competition.
Coloured kit, pink balls, music, bar and BBQ and all kicks off 10.30am.
